TNGF - COSMO Golf Course is situated in the heart of the city and spread over an area of 90 Acres.  TNGF - Cosmo golf course is conveniently located in the heart of Chennai.  The Course was inaugurated on 15th January 1938 by the then Governor General of India, the Honourable Victor Alexander Hope, 2nd Marquess of Linlithgow and later re-designed by Mr.  The course is ranked as one of the most difficult on India’s Golf tournament circuit.  The high season to play golf in Chennai is between December and March when the weather is balmy.  The course is approximately 12kms from the Airport and 10kms from Central Railway Station.  Many luxury and star hotels are within a short distance to the course.  The front nine fairways are tight while back nine opens out to provide relief to poor scoring Golfers.  Mid-April to mid-June tends to be hot and thereafter it is medium weather till end October.  Monsoon rains hit Chennai in November.  Peter Thomson.
