This is an interpretation of an aspect of the Māori creation story, from Aotearoa (New Zealand), told from the point of view of Papatūānuku, the Earth Mother, which describes how she and her husband Ranginui the Sky Father, were eventually separated by their son Tāne Mahuta and his brothers, so that they could live with light and space to reach their full potential.  Produced in association with Copyright Licensing New Zealand Cultural Fund, the Aho Wahine series of digital graphic novels breathe new life into the traditional stories of Aotearoa/New Zealand, by re-imagining them from the point of view of the female characters.  This series also features synchronized text and audio in both the Māori and English languages, as well as the Swipe-to-Read™ function which allows the reader to hear and play back the story at their own pace.  We partner with publishers and other content owners, using our patented technology to bring content to life in revolutionary new digital formats that deepen engagement and understanding.  • The ‘Use the My Narration’ function to read and record the story yourself and customise your book.  “Aho Wahine” originated from a concept developed in 2013 under the creative direction of Rhonda Kite ONZM.  KIWA™Books offer a true multi-lingual experience and are a great tool for learning new languages for both young and old.  KIWA® is the world’s leading production house for experiential digital books.  • The Auto Play function for you to enjoy the pre-recorded narration.  • Extensive notes on the storytelling, and background information on the artists and musicians involved in this project.  • Tap to hear pronounciation and double-tap to hear phonetics/spelling.
