If you’re trying to find a particular word you can search through the dictionary by phoneme (letter sound) using colourful tabs, or use the special children’s speech recognition tool to search for words in the dictionary even if you’re not sure how to spell it.  The Phonics Spelling Dictionary app uses the word list and images from Oxford University Press’ popular Phonics Spelling Dictionary and makes them easily accessible on your phone and tablet.  Content is taken from Oxford Reading Tree’s Phonics Spelling Dictionary book.  It orders words according to their initial sounds, which helps children using synthetic phonics to become proficient readers and spellers.  Browse through the app to check your spelling, remind yourself of new words that you’ve learned, or to learn more about pronunciation.  Organising words by sound and breaking them up into coloured sections, the app features fun illustrations and interactive audio feedback throughout to help keep you engaged as you learn.  Tap on words to hear them read aloud to check that you’ve read the word correctly, and to reinforce pronunciation.  Save words from the dictionary to the ‘My Words’ section.  You’re earn stickers when you use the app, and they’ll automatically be added to the app’s sticker book section.  Track your progress and earn rewards for your achievements!
