• In the introduction you will learn basic information about the chemical properties and detection methods of amino acids, synthesis and degradation of peptides, peptide hormones, neuropeptides, protein biosynthesis, the structure and classification of proteins.  • In the exercise unit the amino acids, peptides or proteins will be arranged randomly and can be assigned to a corresponding property (e.g. the one or three letter codes of the amino acids or a biological function of proteins etc.) by drag and drop.  • Learn and practice the molecular structures and biological features of the 20 proteinogenic amino acids, 15 selected peptides and 15 important proteins.  • Learn and practice the 3D structure, the place of formation and the biological function of the following proteins: Hemoglobin, Myoglobin, Collagen, Elastin, Plasma fibronectin, Human serum albumin, Fibrinogen, Transferrin, Calmodulin, Cadherin, Ferritin, Immunglobulin, α-Keratin, Thrombin, Nicotinic acetylcholine receptor.  • Learn and practice the place of formation, classification and biological function of the following peptides: Glutathione, Ocytocin, Vasopressin, Insulin, Glucagon, Substanz P, α-Amanitin, Bradykinin, β-Endorphin, Angiotensine II, Somatostatin, Gastrin, Met-enkephalin, Leu-enkephalin, Secretin.  • Learn and practice the 2D structures, the one and three letter codes, the breakdown products and the chemical properties of the 20 proteinogenic amino acids.  • As amino acid features you can select the one or three letter code, the initial compound of the synthesis, the breakdown product, the chemical properties and the name of the amino acid.  • You can select the length, the place of formation, the classification, the biological function and the name of the peptide as peptide features.  • The following information is provided in the learning unit: The discoverers, as well as the 2D structures, the initial compounds of synthesis and the breakdown compounds of the 20 proteinogenic amino acids.  • As protein features you can select the place of formation, classification, biological function and name of the protein.  • You can display the structural formula of the amino acid, the sequence of the peptide or the 3D structure of the protein or their names.  The 3D structures and the biological functions of 15 important proteins.  • The name and the structural formula of a compound can be zoomed by double tap gesture or by press-and-hold gesture, in order to reveal details.  The discoverers, and the biological functions of 15 selected peptides.  The assignment to the corresponding feature can be shuffled at any time or the correct assignment of the features can be displayed.  • The app is divided into 3 parts: Introduction, learning unit, exercise unit.  • The structures or names are arranged randomly.  • The target group of the app are scientific, interested pupils and students of biochemistry, chemistry, pharmacy, biology and medicine.  • The correctness of the chosen arrangement, as well as the correct solution can be displayed at any time.  • The app assists you in learning related terms by assigning them.  • The operation is self-explanatory and intuitively understandable.
