The app will make use of the wide angle lenses on the newer iPhones to provide object detection at a wider angle, this reduces the need to move the device in a scanning side to side motion as you walk so the device can detect objects to the sides of where you are walking.  To note: The app will be more accurate on dual lens devices, accuracy can also be improved particularly on single lens devices by moving the device in a slow side to side motion while still facing the direction of travel.  Think of the app like a car’s parking sensor alerting you as your device gets closer to objects by either playing sound from the direction of the object or vibrating with increased intensity* (on supported devices).  Ideally hold the device at an angle of around 45 degrees at waist height facing the direction of travel so the device can see obstacles ahead.  The app supports VoiceOver when it is enabled on the device and works best with headphones that provide good directional sound such as the Apple headphones.  cette application is designed to assist visually impaired or blind people by translating what it can see using the camera into sound and vibration*.  *=Vibration is only supported on certain devices this is currently the iPhone 7 and newer, however this is subject to change.  We are actively looking to improve the application and have a number of features we are looking to develop soon.  The app should only be used within safe environments and to supplement existing tools.  with any suggestions of ways in which we can improve the app.  Vibration can be turned off within the settings.
