Sarajevo Tunnel of Hope - Audio Guide is the official audio tour guide which will help you discovery this incredible historic locations on your own. It features is a small hand-dug tunnel that saved the city and ensured the survival of 300,000 citizens of Sarajevo. Without machinery or proper equipment, after six months of continuous digging on July the 30th 1993 the tunnel under the Sarajevo airport runway was opened. Tunnel of Hope is the Sarajevo war tunnel that saved the city. In order to reach the free territories, many people risked their lives by running across the Sarajevo airport runaway which was under the constant sniper fire. When you enter the Tunnel of Hope memorial complex, use the app to scan QR Codes located throughout the complex and listen to the fascinating stories about each exhibit. It is now a museum featuring exhibits which testify to the suffering of the citizens of Sarajevo during the war from 1992 to 1995. Take your time to learn about the monumental struggle for survival and resilience of 300,000 besieged citizens of Sarajevo. Due to a large number of fatalities, the citizens decided to dig a secret tunnel. All content of this application is available in English, Spanish, Italian, German, Turkish, Arabic and Bosnian languages without internet connection. In total, there are 23 locations with audio content. This museum is unique in the world. Sadly, many were unsuccessful.
