There will be times on this app that it MIGHT appear that we are drawing a line, for example when finding sports teams for our children to participate on, you might think, why does it matter if there are ex-Mormons or not? It is merely a way for us as parents and for our children to be surrounded by like-minded individuals where we can create and cultivate NEW relationships. This app is a community of people who have left the church and want to find and associate with like-minded individuals. We certainly do not want to ever be exclusive but there will be things, for example, your re-negotiation with yourself and coffee intake, or other experiences that will separate ideas and beliefs but is in NO way a means by which to create drama or harm to anyone. In our list of suggested "To-Do's" some items in the list may be cathartic and healing for some people and downright useless for others. An app for community, clarity and counsel and a place of calm amidst a raging sea of emotions, conflict, confusion and sometimes sadness. We've lost a major community in our life and need to fill that void quickly and smoothly. If it a "To-Do" portion of the app doesn't work for you, simply move on to the next item, or process feelings elsewhere in the app. If you've found conflicting information, please feel free to contact us to help us understand where we may have missed the mark. If we find in our chat rooms or communities that our motto and creeds are broken, you will be banned from this app. This is an app that practices love and demonstrates successful exiting from the church without having to look back. We want as many people to heal as possible. We at NEWLY Ex-Mormon can certainly appreciate those feelings above, having experienced some of them ourselves. We do our best to provide accurate and honest answers wherever possible. If you are looking for something like that, you'll find resources online. This app will NEVER turn into an "Us Versus Them" or "We're Right, You're Wrong" type of app. This is not an app for that type of mentality or behavior. Let us never turn into the "monster" we ran from. One final thought. Let us be 100% understood. This is NOT an app for bitterness or anger. This, however, is an app for healing. Most of us left an organization that to many seemed patriarchally-male-dominated, sometimes bigoted, with undeniable racist origins and what oftentimes is perceived as: "We know better than you" thinking.
