We explore threadings, tie-ups, treadlings, colour and weave, big threadings, little threadings, Point Twill, Twill and Basket Weave, Shadow Weave, Weft Faced Twills and end up harnessing the power of 4 shaft looms in relation to the twill weave structure. The School of Weaving is a series of instructional lessons where weavers learn at their own pace to weave on 4-shaft looms and continue on their weaving journey with renowned and sought-after instructor and designer Jane Stafford. We tackle Laces with Canvas Weave, Huck, Huck with Colour and Weave, Bronson Spot, Atwater Bronson Lace, Blended Lace and how we can get Lace and Twills all in one piece. We delve further into M’s & O’s and Huck, the Powell method of drafting Shadow Weave, Deflected Double Weave, Block Double Weave, and Double Faced Twills. Each lesson demonstrates step by step instructions and will inspire weavers to design and create the best possible cloth they can – to care about graphic, colour, hand, and drape – from beginners wondering where to start, to experienced production weavers searching for new horizons. We get familiar with our reed: exploring denting, cramming and denting, weft-faced, warp-faced, double weave, collapse weave and supplementary warp. We take our first look at Diversified Plain Weave and continue on with Deflected Double. Season 7 expands on past years, focusing on the Colour and Weave gamp. Learn colour theory, graphic design, space division, and design architecture to bring your ideas to life. All the fundamentals of weaving: warping, weaving technique, project planning, sett, different types of looms and yarns, weaving with difficult yarns like mohair, fulling and finishing. To access all features and content you can subscribe to School of Weaving on a monthly or yearly basis with an auto-renewing subscription right inside the app.* Pricing can vary by region and will be confirmed before purchase in the app. In Season 6, we focus on Units, Blocks, and Profiles, exploring old structures and see how we can use everything we’ve learned about design in fresh new ways. We take an in-depth look at Plain Weave. These sequences are applied to units and blocks for Overshot, Crackle, Halvdrall, Turned Taquette, Summer & Winter, M's & O's, and Monk's Belt. We simplify colour and design, making it fun and accessible. We overlay new ideas, new graphics and new use of colour onto our fabric, all on 4 and 8 shafts. Subscription payments will automatically renew unless deactivated at least 24-hours before the end of the current cycle. Your account will be charged for renewal at least 24-hours prior to the end of the current cycle. * All payments will be paid through your iTunes Account and may be managed under Account Settings after the initial payment. You will also learn how to sew a small bag and a pouch with your own handwoven fabric. We’ll be doubling our fun by looking at structures on 4 and 8 shafts. Any unused portion of your free trial will be forfeited upon payment. In app subscriptions will automatically renew at the end of their cycle. Cancellations are incurred by disabling auto-renewal.
