GLEN Learn helps children learn to read English, with guided exercises that build pre-reading skills, and engaging stories and rhymes.  Teachers and caregivers can use GLEN Learn as a resource to help children get ready for school, or to catch up on skills they might be missing.  Teachers can direct students to GLEN Learn to strengthen their language skills, and can use the tools tracking learner progress to understand what kind of help a child needs.  The stories and rhymes included in GLEN Learn allow parents and caregivers to enjoy Story Time with their children, regardless of their own level of literacy.  GLEN Learn has been designed from the ground up to prepare children for their academic journey by helping them build pre-reading skills before they enter Kindergarten.  GLEN Learn is developed by GLEN World, a nonprofit organization developing research-based learning apps to scale early English literacy.  GLEN Learn can also provide the basis for designing new instruction modules: a skilled teacher can craft a rich set of reading, comprehension, and bilingual activities around it.  GLEN World is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization on a mission to scale early English literacy so that every child has access to the educational and economic opportunities it unlocks.  Children can enjoy GLEN Learn at home, preschool, or school.  In line with GLEN World’s mission, GLEN Learn is available free of cost, with no ads and other distractions, and no in-app purchases.  A unique strength is our connection with two premier research universities, University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) and Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), with the close involvement of faculty with expertise spanning second language acquisition, education, cognition, engineering, and machine learning.  We have drawn on best practices in Instructed Second Language Acquisition research to design content that systematically builds the foundations of literacy: vocabulary (what words mean), phonics (how words are built from sounds), and orthography (how words are written).  It is personalized, letting children learn at their own pace, with built-in assessments and skill-strengthening exercises that adapt to the child’s progress.  Our team includes seasoned educators, authors, animators, established graphic artists, and engineers.  But it can also be used in elementary school.  Visit for more information.
