If a defect is found, the driver selects a feature description from the predefined list and indicates whether the vehicle is safe or not and can work with the marked feature and free text field for further comment.  Using a portable device such as a smartphone, iPhone, or tablet (see FAQs for compatible devices), the driver scans in a separate QR barcode (quick indicator) that identifies the driver checking safety.  The driver then scans the vehicle's QR code which allows the system to display a list of car points to be monitored.  Once the system has detected the vehicle, the driver is instructed to enter the recorded mileage at the beginning of each safety test.  A complete history of each check, including photographs, is kept in the vehicle record and selected workspaces can be automatically notified of the need for any modifications.  Driver's Walk Around Check is an electronic version of the manual testing process.  Once the Inspection is complete the data is transferred to a secure database and can be accessed 24/7 by an authorized user from any web browser.  In an electronic format that is not only easy to use but also reduces the errors and inefficiencies associated with paper testing.
