This app was jointly produced by Phoenix Children’s Hospital Child Life Department, the Patient and family Alumni League (PALs), and Valley Leadership of Phoenix, Ariz.  Phoenix Children’s Hospital, ranked in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals, is Arizona’s only licensed children’s hospital, providing world-class inpatient, outpatient, trauma, emergency and urgent care to children and families in Arizona and throughout the Southwest.  The Patient and family Alumni Leadership (PALs) group is philanthropic team of former patients (or family members of former patients) who give back to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, with the goal of enriching the environment and experience for patients and families.  Used by Child Life Specialists in hospitals around the world, parents can also use this information to promote positive health care experiences for their children before heading to see the doctor.  Simply Sayin’™ was developed by Certified Child Life Specialists at Phoenix Children's Hospital.  As one of the largest children’s hospitals in the country with 465 licensed beds, Phoenix Children’s provides care across more than 65 pediatric specialties.  The hospital is poised for continued growth in quality patient care, research and medical education.  Child Life Specialists help patients better understand and cope with their medical experiences.  The award-winning Simply Sayin’™ app uses pictures, sounds and a family-friendly glossary of terms to facilitate clear conversations between the healthcare provider, child, and family.  The medical jargon health care professionals use can be overwhelming to children, because they process information differently than adults.  Simply Sayin’™ is a mobile resource to help medical professionals provide developmentally appropriate explanations of medical terminology and common procedures.  Valley Leadership is a nonprofit, leadership development organization with the mission to enhance the abilities of individuals to serve and strengthen our communities.  Established in 1978, Valley Leadership has been cultivating passionate and engaged leaders in our community for 30 years.  MediaKube is an award-winning developer of mobile apps and other creative digital media.  This app reinforces teach back techniques that have become the standard of care.  MediaKube helps companies of all sizes use technology to communicate effectively with their target audience.  Valley Leadership: Connecting…Learning…Leading.
